Liquor License Checklist

When starting a business involving the wholesale and/or importation of alcoholic beverages, compliance with with Federal and Local Alcohol and Beverage Laws and Regulations is essential for successful operations. 

The following is a checklist outlining the general requirements:

  • Obtain Federal Basic Permit.
  • Obtain approval of formulation, labels and advertising.
  • Register W/I with FDA. 
  • Foreign manufacturers must be registered with the FDA.
  • Apply for Wholesaler-Importer license with local Alcoholic Beverage Control Commission.
  • Foreign Manufacturer/Supplier may need to obtain a Certificate of Compliance.
  • Obtain COLA.
  • You may also require salesperson, warehouse and transportation licenses/permits.
