Liquor License Checklist

When starting a business involving the wholesale and/or importation of alcoholic beverages, compliance with with Federal and Local Alcohol and Beverage Laws and Regulations is essential for successful operations.

The following is a checklist outlining the general requirements:

Obtain Federal Basic Permit.
Obtain approval of formulation, labels and advertising.
Register W/I with FDA.
Foreign manufacturers must be registered with the FDA.
Apply for Wholesaler-Importer license with local Alcoholic Beverage Control Commission.
Foreign Manufacturer/Supplier may need to obtain a Certificate of Compliance.
Obtain COLA.
You may also require salesperson, warehouse and transportation licenses/permits.
